Japan and US Accelerate $550 Billion Strategic Investment Initiative
Japan and the United States are preparing to accelerate a $550 billion strategic investment initiative agreed as part of a broader trade deal aimed at reducing tariffs imposed by former US President Donald Trump.
Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday that ministers from both countries have agreed to speed up preparations to announce the first project under the initiative as soon as possible.
The investments are expected to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, support supply chains, and stimulate growth in key sectors such as advanced technology, energy, industry, and infrastructure, enhancing the competitiveness of both economies globally.
